Have Your Federal Work-Study Referral At The Ready

• You must present a Federal Work-Study Program Referral to your (prospective) employer(s).
• Your Referral authorizes your employer to hire and pay you on Work-Study funds.
• You may print your on-campus or off-campus Referral from the Job Board or visit the Financial Aid Office to receive a Referral.

Each Work-Study Job Request indicates whether the position is

offered by an On-Campus or an Off-Campus employer.

Review Posted Work-Study Job Request(s)

• Both On-Campus and Off-Campus employers advertise their available Work-Study positions by completing our Work-Study Job Request(s). We list (or "post") all Requests on the Work-Study website.
• The Work-Study Job Board will be open on September 1st.
• Employers are attempting to advertise all of their jobs for the entire academic year by September 1st. However, we will continue to receive new jobs throughout the academic year.

Create Or Develop Your Own Work-Study Job

You may not find (posted) job opportunities that suit your particular academic and career goals/needs. If so, you may want to investigate "creating" your own job to more fully address them.

Be aware that some jobs are not FWSP

eligible because of the type of work you would perform,

the type of pay you would receive, et cetera.

Look Also for Paid Internships

You may consider a "paid internship" as an "alternative" to a Work-Study job. However, certain FWSP restrictions apply and they state that:

• Work-Study can not be a requirement for participation in the internship;
• All student interns are "paid" with or without work study; and
• The pay basis is an hourly rate.

Caution:

An internship or a practicum that is a requirement for

the degree for which a student is not normally paid does not

qualify under Work-Study regulations.
